Loading Racks and Pipe Racks
Modular Design Reduces Costs, Improves Quality
and Speeds Installation
Four Men, Three Weeks, 600' Loading Rack and Pipe with 20+ Stations
By using a modular approach to
Loading Racks and Pipe Racks,
we are able to move more of the welding and pipe fitting process into a controlled
shop environment where quality assurance is better and production is more efficient
and effective. This method enhances weld quality, reduces your construction footprint,
and reduces your exposure to environmental delays due to weather. In addition, you
can expect a much faster installation
whether we install it or you do.
We also supply Single Pedestal
Loading Racks and Loading
Platforms for truck and rail with optional canopies, which come with
fixed or track-mounted gangways.
These are a standard product for us and are usually delivered to your site very
quickly; often before you can get your foundations installed.

Railyard Safety Products Online adds Derails to Inventory!
|
Derails are emergency car stopping devices to prevent unauthorized movement of a
locomotive or railcar. The derail lifts the flange of the car wheel and drops it
clear of the rail. Simultaneously, the wheel opposite the derail is guided off the
rail. Once the car wheel leaves the rail, forward movement is greatly impeded.
Mandatory Use Regulations:
FRA Subpart E - Derails
Derail Minimum Requirements
OSHA 1910.261(c)
Pulp and paper cars
OSHA 1910.176(f)
All freight cars
DOT Pamphlet #34
Safe loading/unloading of tank cars
FRA Chapter 11, #218.25 Workmen on track
|
Effective derailing depends on:
- Proper derail size and installation
- Normal switching speed travel
- Flat track -- no grades.
Fully exposed track -- derailed wheels need to sink into the ties and ballast.
- Ample room for derailment. A derailed car may travel a car length or more before
stopping, depending on speed.
- Installation in sound track.
- In curved track, install on outside rail.
